White Papers & Articles
- What is Message Modeling?
Major financial institutions use message formats such as SWIFT, FIX, OCS,etc. when delivering STP business event detail to external entities or their trading partners. Most of these organizations have come to realize that they must create generic internal business event messages that are independent of these external formats. These internal messages insulate the business applications from changes to the external formats. [Request Information]
- Grasp Control of Your Reference Data Environment
Volante provides an innovative data management substrate with embedded financial services domain knowledge that helps firms build and deploy reference data solutions rapidly, reduce the initial cost of deployment and reduce the ongoing maintenance cost as well. The elegance of Volante comes from its federated approach to addressing reference data implementations. Volante’s Message Metadata Repository centralizes metadata rules related to data element definitions, message definitions, and transformations. However, groups within a firm can choose to deploy these rules on different platforms based on their individual needs. Centralization of rules provides a firm all the benefits of data centralization without the associated constraints of a physical data store. [Request Information]

- Real-time Transaction Reporting System (RTRS)
Customer: Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB)
The Real-Time Reporting System (RTRS) was designed to use ISO 15022 messaging to dovetail with FICC/DTCC's real-time comparison and settlement engine (RTTM) allowing dealers to comply with MSRB Rules G-14 (transaction reporting) and G-12(f) (automated comparison) using a single message format and pipeline. MSRB needed a messaging solution supporting ISO 15022 (and SWIFT) out-of-the-box so as to accelerate the development and also support any required message customizations that MSRB needed, without any low level hand coding. After a thorough comparison of different vendor products by a third party, the Volante product suite was chosen as the basis of its connectivity solution. [Request Information]
